Defects of wheel hub assembly

In the production process of wheel hub units, there may be a variety of defects. Some defects are visible to the naked eye, and some defects require the use of some professional inspection tools or equipment to discover. In this article, we mainly talk about some Defects that can be observed with the naked eye.

Forging Defects

During the forging process, some defective blanks will be produced. After turning these defective blanks, these defects will be reflected on the machined surface, resulting in a rough blank surface, and the relevant assembly dimensions will not meet the qualified requirements.
Since there are multiple visual inspections during the production process, products with such defects usually do not appear in the final product.

Drilling Defects

When the bench drill is used to drill holes or tap threads in the drilling process, there may be a certain probability that a single hole is not drilled or tapped, and because of the high degree of manual participation, this problem is very uncontrollability.
Now all drilling processes are carried out through CNC machining centers. The probability that a single hole is not drilled or tapped is almost 0. In rare cases, the entire product may not be drilled. This is a very small probability human cause. Products with such problems will almost never be sold in the market.

Drilling Deviate or Improper Hole Position

When using a bench drill, since drilling and tapping are done manually one by one, a variety of problems may occur in a single hole, including hole position deviation, verticality problems, etc.
Since CNC machining centers are now drilling holes, many problems will no longer occur. There is a small probability that hole position deviation may occur. The main reason for this problem is that the parameter settings are incorrect during equipment debugging.
When there is a hole position deviation visible to the naked eye, the product is unusable. When there is no obvious hole position deviation visible to the naked eye, the use of the product is not affected at all.

When the product is riveted, the metal is deformed due to pressure. If there is a problem with the internal metallography of the raw material, this problem may lead to cracks. Another cause of cracks is incorrect parameter settings of the equipment.
Regardless of the cause of the crack, we do not recommend the use of this product.

During the production process of the product, it is relatively susceptible to appearance damage due to repeated transportation and movement.
Even though today’s production management standards are becoming more and more stringent and transport tools are becoming more and more professional, it is still difficult to completely avoid some minor injuries.
In most cases, cosmetic damage will not affect the use of the product, but it will affect the final sales. Therefore, we will gradually increase the grading standards for product appearance damage and strengthen the control of products with appearance damage.
